About Shakir

Shakir is a luxury interior designer based in Tiel, the Netherlands. The studio creates complete residential interiors for private clients in the Netherlands, Dubai, Barcelona, Antwerpen and Malaga. Every project runs from concept development and 3D visualisation through procurement, joinery and final dressing. The work is rooted in Mediterranean warmth, shaped by international experience and designed around one thing: how you live.

The Studio Story

The studio was founded fifteen years ago on a conviction that luxury interior design does not have to feel cold. The Dutch market has no shortage of clean Scandinavian minimalism. Beautiful, certainly. But not warm. Not lived in.

By Shakir brings a Mediterranean sensibility to an industry that often defaults to restraint. Travertine over cool marble. Warm sand tones over arctic white. Linen and textured stone where others reach for glass and steel. This is not a reaction against minimalism. It is an alternative for clients who want their home to feel inviting, not merely impressive.

That approach has led to commissions across four countries: a villa mansion in the Netherlands, a duplex penthouse in Barcelona, a country estate near Antwerpen, a beach house in Malaga and a penthouse overlooking Dubai Marina.

How We Work

Your Life Shapes Every Decision

We do not start with a style. We start with you. Your daily routines, your preferences, the feeling you want when you walk through the door. The design follows from there, not the other way around. That is why no two By Shakir interiors look the same.

You See Everything Before It Is Built

Every project includes photorealistic 3D visualisation of every room. You approve finishes, furniture placement and lighting on screen. Changes at this stage cost nothing. By the time construction begins, you know exactly what you are getting.

One Designer from Start to Finish

Shakir leads every commission personally. Not a project manager, not an associate. The same person who develops the concept also selects the materials, coordinates the trades and places the final objects. One relationship, one vision, the entire project.

International Standards, Personal Scale

Projects in the Netherlands, Dubai, Barcelona, Antwerpen and Malaga. Each one managed with the same level of personal attention. Shakir travels to every project location for concept presentation, material approval and final dressing.
